I have deadlines. More deadlines than I should have, truth be told. So what am I doing? Am I writing? Am I narrating? Am I doing a little post-Christmas housecleaning? Am I sitting here thinking about tacos?
I did start out with good intentions, mind you. Stepped into the isolation chamber to narrate, but discovered I still had the kind of non-sexy morning voice that just makes everyone want to clear their throats for me.
So my kids. They’re great. And they must think I’m halfway decent, too, in spite of my dubious parenting skillZ…
So here are some of my favorite gifts I received this year…
I have these great kids. Yeah, there are some days I wonder what God was thinking when He pegged me for motherhood (not because of them, truth be told, but because of my ofttimes dubious mothering skillZ). But He did, nonetheless, and He gave me good ones, to boot (and I have booted each of them a time or two. With a lovin’ boot, of course.).
Dang it. Now I have The Wishin’ Boot stuck in my head….
How was your Christmas? Did you have a chance to catch up to anyone special over the weekend? I know this holiday can be filled with blessings for some and filled with heartache for others. I pray you received a taste of joy in the celebration of the birth of Christ. One of the things I’ve committed to do more of lately is praying, and although I pray for my readers all the time, is there anything, in particular, you’d like me to pray about? I’d love to add your name to my prayer journal. Email me directly HERE.
It’s Thursday. Well, it was when I started writing this, anyway. So even though it’s after midnight and you won’t be getting this until Friday (Christmas Eve Eve, for those of us who are – I mean, aren’t – panicking!), in my book, it still counts as a Thursday post!
Here are 3 things I’m thankful for this fine Thursday…
Yep. I’m sick. December hit me like a ton of bricks. Hit me hard. Took me out at the knees and is now kicking me while I’m down. And…it has also stolen my voice.
This is not good if you make a living as a narrator or voice actor.
Oh! But check out the snow on my website!!! (Look! A Squirrel!)

First off, let me just say that if you experienced even half the gratitude I did over Thanksgiving, you and I make one GRATEFUL BUNCH!
And to thank you for being such lovely readers and all around awesome people (because you ARE, and I’m grateful for every one of you who read my words and keep coming back for more!), I’ve got a few different ways I’m showing my appreciation of YOU!
So I’ve started a file on my computer called “Things I Googled…” As an author, I get to tweak reality and suspend belief and live vicariously and create worlds, et al. But to do all those things in a way that makes readers WANT to believe the unbelievable, I have to infuse my falsities with at least of fraction of facts, right? So what does a girl do? She Googles.
As you may have heard…my computer hard drive crashed at the end of September. An “avada kedavra, belly-up, legs-twitching-in-the-air” kind of crash. Although I don’t know who wielded the wand on this one, what I took to my Computer Repair Mistress (CRM) was something that metaphorically resembled what was left of Voldemort under the bench at that weird, misty, near empty train station. Not quite dead, but not much left worth salvaging.
Yes, it’s been veeeeerrrrra (please, please, PLEASE read that with a Scottish burr – it’s much more fun that way) quiet on the home front the last month or two. Well, I’m just gonna tell you now, it’s probably going to stay fairly quiet the rest of the year.
What’s going on you ask?
